‘There was a fairy ring by my grandmother’s garden. I asked my grandmother what this ring of gross mushrooms was (back then I hated the way mushrooms looked) and the air changed. All of a sudden, I had complete and total concentration and my grandmother felt like someone, or something else took her over and told me that it was a fairy ring and not to go in it. I did anyway. I stepped completely into the fairy ring and had a weird feeling in my stomach. I asked my grandma if she could tell me more about the fairy ring and she said she had no idea what I was talking about. I stepped out and crushed the mushrooms. My life has been full of weird coincidences and bullshit. Like my luck is bad enough to get me into situations but good enough to get me out.’ ‘I wonder if apologizing to them in or as close to the same spot that I destroyed the fairy ring would make any sort of amends.’
