‘I parked up to make a call and have a cigarette. I saw two fairies sort of drifting around some fireweed. I watched them for what seemed like a couple of minutes before they flitted off. I saw them regularly as a child, but it became less as I got older. This was eight years ago. I am a hereditary witch and contact and work with fairies a lot, but although I sense them and they can cause mischief in my house, I can no longer see them. Humanoid, fairly opaque at times, shining.’ Why fairies? ‘Appearance, feeling, activity, family knowledge of fairies.’ What are fairies? ‘Mmm… good question. I think nature spirits.’ ‘I think fairies might be related to the Native American belief that everything in nature has its own energy and that energy sometimes manifests and is personified by us.’
